Experience-Based Results: Case Studies & Success Stories
These recent matters—handled by Attorney Steven Kim—highlight how our trademark team helps businesses protect and enforce their brands.
OLUMIRING
Counterfeiter used the client's mark, OLUMIRING, on Amazon and other online markets to sell "O" ring lights. Counterfeiter then applied for a US trademark registration of the same mark, blocking our client's trademark application. We successfully filed an Opposition of the counterfeiter's trademark application, and the USPTO ultimately issued a trademark registration of our client's mark, OLUMIRING
FREAK TIME
An opportunist applicant took our famous client's mark, FREAK TIME, and filed a trademark application with the USPTO. We timely and successfully filed an opposition to the application arguing that, among other things, FREAK TIME is a mark that was coined and used by our famous client, and otherwise points to our client as a source identifier of the mark.
PIXIDA RESTAURANT
The USPTO refused registration of our client's mark, PIXIDA RESTAURANT. PIXIDA, a Greek word when it's translated into English, means "COMPASS", which is a registered trademark in the same class of services with the USPTO. We successfully filed a response arguing, among other things, that our client's business and the registrant's business is commercially distinguishable and that the doctrine of foreign equivalents does not apply when a mark is composed of both a foreign and English word.
These real-world results demonstrate our experience, authority, and hands-on problem-solving approach.
