What is the East Med Act?

The Eastern Mediterranean Security and Energy Partnership Act was signed into law in 2020. The legislation bolsters the United States' efforts with Israel, Greece, and Cyprus to promote peace, prosperity, and security. Specifically, the legislation authorizes new security assistance for Cyprus and Greece and establishes a United States-Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center to facilitate energy cooperation among the four countries.
