Yesterday, on Friday, April 20th, 2018, our firm’s partner, Taso Pardalis, enjoyed the honor of delivering a speech as keynote speaker at New York’s raising of the Greek and American flags by Wall Street’s Charging Bull in honor of Greek Independence Day.
Following welcoming remarks by Mamie Stathatos, the Presidential Guard of the Hellenic Republic arrived marching up Whitehall St. Very Reverend Father Nektarios Papazafiropoulos then delivered an Invocation in honor of the weekend's celebration. Helena Panayi sang the American National Anthem as flag bearers raised the American flag, and the Greek National Anthem was performed by Yianni Papastefanou during the raising of the Greek national flag.
Following greetings by the chairman of the Bowling Green Association, Arthur Piccolo, and the President of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, Petros Galatoulas, attendees enjoyed traditional performances by the A. Fantis Parochial School Dance Troop. Partner of Pardalis & Nohavicka, LLP., Taso Pardalis was then welcomed to deliver his keynote speech and remark to the crowd. Performances by the Hellenic Classical Charter School Dance Troop brought the joyous ceremony to a festive close.
This ceremony preludes Sunday’s Greek Independence Day Parade, a celebration of the 197th anniversary since Greece’s revolution of 1821 held by the Federation of Hellenic Societies. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
