A volcano is about to erupt in the recording industry

Under the present copyright law, effective 1/1/78, upon birth of a musical piece, a 35-yr clock starts ticking, after which musicians are granted termination rights, which allow them to regain control of their work, so long as they apply at least 2 years in advance. The first round of works are free in 2013. The termination notices started going out on 1/1/11.
